I wanted to share a quick update on a few recent improvements I've made to Tahanan.
The biggest one is this: you can now jump ahead to more advanced lessons without having to follow such a strict lesson order first.
That change matters a lot to me because I know not everyone comes into Tahanan at the same starting point. Some of you already understand the basics, some of you want to focus on the topics that feel most relevant right now, and some of you just learn better when you can explore a little more freely.
So now it should feel easier to move around, try lessons that are a little further ahead, and learn in a way that feels more natural to you.
I've also made some improvements to the coaching matching experience so it does a better job giving learners a more tailored fit.
And on the smaller side, I've cleaned up a few bugs in the recording flow and some lesson flow issues that were making parts of the experience feel rougher than they should.
Nothing dramatic there, just the kind of steady product polish that helps the app feel smoother over time.
I also just want to say thank you. I'm really, really grateful for all the support I've been given online, both publicly on social media and privately through DMs and emails. It means a lot to me to see people enjoying the app and trusting me with their Tagalog learning journey.
I also want to share a little of what's coming next.
Hands-free audio lessons and custom flashcard decks are both coming soon. Those have been some of the most requested things lately, and I'm excited to finally work on them more directly.
There's also more work happening in the background on adding more languages and dialects. That's moving a little more slowly than I expected, but I'm being careful with it because I care a lot about the quality of the instruction and I don't want to rush that part.
In the meantime, I'm focusing on the features you all have been asking for, plus one secret new feature that I'm super, super excited about. I think it's going to be really cute and really helpful for staying motivated, and I'm excited to share more about that very soon.
